We see them in the stores, on TV, in newspaper ads and other places. Advertisements stating that the latest and greatest thing for consumers are "flushable" wipes that are quick, easy and convenient to use. Unfortunately, all this media hype about how to make our lives a little easier is actually wreaking havoc on sewer systems.
If sewer systems aren't treated with care, the results are flooded streets, basements, backed up toilets, and the potential for spreading disease. Although the cleaning manufacturers are surely trying to make things easier for humans, the concerns mentioned here are definitely worth considering.
I encourage you to read the linked article herein and see what problems are being encountered and what the term "ragging" refers to. You'll be surprised.
