Winter Break's Penultimate Week

One down, one to go. Half way there. Fifty percent complete. At the midway point. Of what? Winter break.

As this week ends, a lot has been accomplished in the high school. Besides the work that is being done by outside companies for the water damage from the broken coil over the band, choir, practice rooms and weight room, our cleaning and maintenance is going well. We've been able to repair lunch room tables, clean and burnish several floors, do some patching in preparation for painting, clean the bleachers, gym and multipurpose areas, clean several carpeted areas, de-ice, dump garbage and recycle throughout the building, repair sensors for the security system, reset AHU's and much more. And we still get two days off for the holidays! Wow! Great work team!

Next week we will continue with clay trap cleaning, kitchen hood filters, painting, miscellaneous cleaning and maintenance and much more. Then, on Monday, January 5, we will be trained in extremely important information on bomb recognition and awareness by the police department with the help of the district SRO. Afterward, the Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety department will work with us in learning about fire extinguisher use, cribbing (lifting heavy objects off of people and things) and light search and rescue.

Overall, our winter break will be busy and productive. We look forward to starting 2009 on a clean "foot" and seeing the staff and students in the new year. Thanks for all your support!
