As my current poll comes to a close, I'd like to ask what you think. About what? About the profession of being a custodian. What do you think being a custodian involves? What kind of things do custodians do? Is it all cleaning or is more involved? How much "custodial" work in the way of building care and maintenance do custodians do? What would you change? What would you ask? As my poll queried, would you want to be a custodian? Why or why not? The two who did vote said "yes". I'd like to see more votes. I believe I will run the same poll for another month and see what transpires.
In your life, what have you heard about custodians or the custodial department whether in our district or others? Are the comments positive or negative? Do you believe them? Have you ever considered the type of people that accept the job of a custodian? Are they stereotyped? If so, as what?
I'm interested in hearing input about school custodians. Often I only see what revolves around my custodial world so hearing outside commentary on this profession would be interesting. I feel that getting input would not only aid me but others who read this as well. To become a better worker, positive criticism is always necessary and beneficial. Tell me what you think!
Educating custodians, school staff, students, parents and the public on the duties, responsibilities and needs of a school facility. Working to make the custodial department more understandable and hoping to engage the support and help of all who use the campus. Sharing information on several cleaning-related, health and custodial topics to enlighten readers and requesting input from all who peruse this blog.
