Scratching My Head
Why? Why are they out so late? I've been pondering this question for a few weeks now as I think about vandalism that occurs at not only our buildings, but others throughout the area. Most often, these vandals strike at night under the cover of darkness. My question is why are they out so late? Where is the supervision that should be provided for these young, budding adults? What has happened to family values, staying home together, respecting family rules? When you look at news reports and see how much crime takes place between the hours of midnight and six ante meridian, you would think that parents would restrict their children from being on the streets as a protection for them and to provide peace of mind for themselves. Why take a chance on getting that life-shattering phone call from the police that every parent fears? Why not sleep soundly and keep one's family safe? Staying up late at home is one thing. Being out and about when it's late is quite another. And being out vandalizing the property of others is heinous and unacceptable!
