Once upon a time a bar of soap sufficed to clean your hands. Then it was discovered that this was not always preventing the spread of bacteria, but actually aiding in it. Thus the advent of the refillable soap dispenser. But it too did not work as promised. Bacteria can accumulate inside of these containers and even mold can grow inside of them despite the contents being soap. Now the safest way to go is to use sealed soap cartridges.
Sealed soap cartridges cannot be contaminated, dispense better, especially the foaming type and are recyclable when empty. They are easy to store, easy to install and not that expensive. Studies have shown that using sealed soap cartridges are 100% bacteria free and when hands are washed, they really are clean. Bacteria is not being passed on to the next user. An article from cmmonline.com goes into more detail on these sealed systems and even how the military benefited from installing them in their facilities.
