Spring Into Summer

Spring break is over. The last break of the year before summer. We were able to clean the gym which is our typical April break project, pressure wash some high need areas, burnish floors, clean bathrooms, clean carpets, do some minor maintenance items and other jobs that we don't get to during a typical school day.

Now, as we approach summer, I begin the task of scheduling our summer cleaning schedule which means working around vacations, building usage, maintenance and other factors. I will probably spend a couple months refining and readjusting the cleaning schedule and needs as we approach June. Summer is always a quieter but busier time of year as we have so much to do in such a short time.

I really hope with the economy and budget cuts the way they are that we will be able to purchase the supplies we need for next year. If the budget is cut, then we will have to dismiss certain forms and areas of cleaning since we will not be able to purchase the supplies or materials needed to do the job correctly. Hopefully, this critical area will not be affected so that we can maintain a clean and healthy building for students, staff and the public.

So, with that said, here we go as we head downhill toward summer!

There should not be a cut in supplies. The committee did not recommend adjustments to the maintenance budget because of cuts in the last two years.

Thanks! I read that in the budget proposal that was released today. Thank you very, very much! That will help us keep up a clean, safe school for all. I appreciate the consideration on this part of the budget analysis.
