Six Boxes of Wax and $700 Later

That's about what it takes to get the commons, Main Street, lower gym hall, multipurpose lobby and adjoining rooms to shine for another year. And that's only the beginning. Our wax crew still has all the science rooms, Ag building, hallways and other rooms to clean and wax. Our general cleaning team has finished about eight classrooms and only has about 50 more to go. The carpet team is off and running, but they haven't been able to do much more than nudge the edge of the thousands of square yards of carpet that need cleaned. All in all though, we appear to be on track.

One member of our crew passed away about two weeks ago, so that was a blow and setback. We wish his family comfort in their time of loss.

Our student helpers arrived today and began working with us. What a great set of students we have! They are working wonderfully with us, listening closely, accomplishing various tasks, learning new jobs and getting into the team spirit. We look forward to having them with us most of the summer. We hope to be able to accomplish a few more items that we would normally not be able to accomplish.

The tilt of the earth and the accompanying jet streams portend a very warm weekend provided by the blazing ball of hydrogen 93 million miles away. We look forward to relaxing and absorbing some of this energy and preparing for another week of work.

Take some time for your family this weekend and meditate on something serious. Enjoy the summer.
